Pedal for a Purpose 2018
Thank you to all who supported the 2018 Pedal for a Purpose campaign of the Central/Southern Illinois Synod of the ELCA, supporting Lutheran Outdoor Ministries Center! Trinity members sponsored Pastor Micah for the miles he rode during the month of May on his bicycle - he rode 132 miles! Together, we donated about $800 to this campaign, a great step toward the goal of $25,000 from the 120+ congregations in our synod!

Pedal for a Purpose 2017 Northern Conference Event
"Faithful through the Ages" - May 27, 2017
Each of the past five years, the Central/Southern Illinois Synod has presented a "Pedal for a Purpose” bicycle tour to raise funds for various ministries, raising over $140,000 over those years. For 2017, the 5th annual Pedal for a Purpose aimed to raised $50,000 for Lutheran Social Services of Illinois.
Our Northern Conference event, subtitled "Faithful through the Ages," was a 30-mile bicycle tour from our “newest congregation” (the Three Saints Parish, specifically St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Wyoming, IL) to one of our oldest (St. Paul Lutheran Church in Peoria, IL). Pastor Micah was one of five riders who battled tough conditions on the Rock Island State Trail to complete the 30-mile ride. The group added two other riders for a 15-mile trip, and ten others participated in the 3-mile Family Ride along the trail. The event concluded with a picnic and worship service on the lawn at St. Paul to celebrate the congregational offerings for Pedal for a Purpose and assemble a wooden cross out of blocks that represent each of the 26 congregations in our Conference. The cross was constructed by Trinity's Bill Whitehouse and Larry Fain. Check out pictures of the event in our Facebook album!
